What we believe.............
Providence OPC holds to the historic doctrines of the Reformed Faith, believing that the Bible is the inerrant God-breathed Word of God. We worship the one true God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and we place our trust for salvation from sin in the atoning work of Jesus Christ. We hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith & Catechisms, faithful summaries of the Bible's teachings, as standards secondary only to Scripture.
-the Bible is the written Word of God, without error in all that it teaches and commands, the only rule for doctrine, worship, and life;
-Jesus Christ, God’s eternal Son, fully God and fully man, is the sovereign Lord over all of life and history, over nature, nations and the church, the only Savior from sin and the judge of all the world;
-all mankind descended from Adam, are lost in sin; and we sinners can be restored to God, forgiven and made new, only by a new birth from Him and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation.
The O.P.C. is a member of the North American Council of Presbyterian and Reformed Churches( NAPARC) and of the International Conference of Reformed Churches( ICRC), but not of the National Council or the World Council of Churches. We have fellowship with other Reformed and Presbyterian Churches who are committed to the infallible Scriptures, and are members in the North American Council of Presbyterian and Reformed Churches.
